If you want to put it that way, remember it was a premier show and luckily anhpoly by that time did a quick impression of the movie, they did cut 20 mins of the movie included the one Dr. Manhattan turned Viet Cong into atom, the raped scene and...sex

Here again, source if you want to counter my point:

https://anhpoly.wordpress.com/2009/03/20/watchmen-t%E1%BB%AB-203-2009/

And after the censorship board found out it's a movie with blue superman naked, killed Viet Cong and turned Vietnam into one of America colony ? All the cinema pulled out all the showtime of the movie.

This is why the box office mojo backed by imdb not even show Vietnam grossed data, so yeah....next time do double check your " fact " since your article get backlash from something you made it up, no one bother to read the rest if the first point is BS

And suck it, Watchmen by that time was flopped, not even a cult classic, business insider even did a satire article about it.

Yeah no, your whole article is invalid in the first place because back then Watchmen actually.....prohibited in Vietnam.

If Watchmen didn't have any showtime in Vietnam then what's your whole point again ?

If you want any source go check on box office data by imdb

It was shown officially in box office. I watched it in HCMC in very good time slot. They cut some shots, but the shots about Vietnamese men exploded and the woman were there. It is PR-ed among online KOL, it was promoted and got high praise from the audience:

I just did some double-check and found some articles on Vietnamese newspaper introducing the film in Vietnam and mentioning the first date that it was release (20 March 2009). You can read one of them here, published by Hà Nội Mới: https://hanoimoi.vn/sieu-pham-watchmen-den-viet-nam-200359.html.

Can you provide any sources that explicitly refer to the ban of the government other than Box Office Mojo? Other comments on Facebook writes that the film was actually screened in Vietnam but with very limited slots and few audience came to theater at that time. That might be the reason why the film's gross in Vietnam was so low and even not recorded on Box Office Mojo.
